‘Tis the season to be jolly!… Which means it is now officially acceptable to consume more treats than you would ever let yourself at any other time in the year; lucky for us this of course includes cocktails. This simple recipe is easy to follow and doesn’t require many ingredients, the edible glitter decorated glass gives it the wow factor to impress your guests with!
Edible glitter (baking aisle)
Get a chilled coupe or martini glass, run a lemon wedge around the rim to wet it and dip into the edible glitter to coat the edge.
In a shaker add 50ml of rhubarb gin, the juice of one lemon, 25ml of sugar syrup and the egg white.
Top with ice and shake vigorously for around 15 seconds.
Pour into the glass and enjoy!
Thankfully the simplicity of this recipe means It isn’t too much hassle to make rounds of once your guests all want more!…(they will!) This could also work with a botanical heavy gin or flavoured gin if you can’t get your hands on a bottle of Slignsby Rhubarb Gin, or once you run out! There are a lot of flavoured gins out there and this has to be one of the best ones I have come across, It still has the botanical juniper notes you’d expect with a gin but with a rhubarb, citrus element, without being sickly sweet or having an odd after taste which I find flavoured gins often have, definitely worth investing in a bottle for the festive season! Treat yourself!
